Experience

Alyssa Billingsley, PharmD, is the director of pharmacy content for GoodRx. She has over a decade of experience as a pharmacist and has worked in clinical, academic, and administrative roles. Prior to joining GoodRx, Alyssa gained extensive experience with compounded medications while working in a compounding pharmacy and at FocusScript, LLC.

At FocusScript, Alyssa developed a new credentialing and accreditation program for compounding pharmacies that several organizations adopted. In 2017, she was recognized with the Distinguished Alumnus Outstanding Achievement Award for this work, which helped to expand patient access to quality compounded medications.

During this time, Alyssa was also adjunct faculty at St. Louis College of Pharmacy, where she taught a pharmaceutics compounding lab. She continues to work with pharmacy students by serving as a preceptor at GoodRx.

In 2020, Alyssa began contributing health content for GoodRx, which allowed her to combine her pharmacy education and passion for writing. She now leads a team of pharmacy editors and freelance writers to create pharmacy and patient advocacy content for GoodRx Health.

Education

Alyssa graduated with her doctorate in pharmacy from St. Louis College of Pharmacy in 2010. While in school, she was interested in exploring non-traditional pharmacist opportunities. This led her to apprentice with a naturopathic physician and complete several compounding pharmacy internships. Since graduating, she has attended numerous conferences and seminars focusing on women’s health, pain, and integrative medicine topics as part of her continuing education.
